Introduction
Hill Top Farm Cottages, are part of small family run business in Marple, Stockport, Cheshire.
Access is easy from Ridge Rd by stone drive (approx. 60 M), leading to a large car park (with 12 spaces).
Although the spaces in the cottage are generous, wheel chair access beyond the ground floor is not possible. Planning restrictions also mean that all w/c’s are on the upper floor.
The self catering cottages are 2 storey buildings. We have tried to provide as much information as possible in this statement, if you have any queries please do call. We look forward to welcoming you.
Pre-Arrival
• We have a website with a lot of information about the cottages and surrounding areas and facilities
• Bookings / enquiries can be made via email, or phone
• The nearest bus stop in the town is 120 metres from the cottages
• The nearest train station (Marple) is 3/4’s mile away; there are accessible taxis at the station
• The nearest RADAR toilets are both within 1 mile at Old Know Marple and also in Rose Hill, Marple
• If you haven’t shopped before arrival there are a large selection of shops in the centre of Marple 3/4’s mile away which includes a large Co-Operative supermarket in addition to local specialist shops
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
• There is ample car parking space around the farm court yard adjacent to the games room next to the cottages it is possible to drop off and unload right outside the front door
• Car park is gravel on a slight slope away from the farm and concrete outside the cottage on a slight slope towards the cottage
• The entrances to both cottages have a 1.2 cm thresh hold (doors hinged on the left in Pear Tree and the right in Meadow). Pear Tree Cottage door is 90 cm wide and Meadow Cottage door is 1 metre wide
• Parking is 15 metres away from the entrance
• The entrance is reached through the car park via an access road that circles the farm house approx. 4 metres wide (2.9 metres wide at the narrowest point)
• External lights around the car park and farm buildings are controlled by motion. Each Cottage has it’s own motion controlled porch light
Main Entrance
• The door for Pear Tree is 90 cm wide & and Meadow cottage is 1 M wide inwards opening directly into the kitchen area. The key hole is at 1 M high
• The threshold is 1.2 cm when entering the cottages
General (Internal)
• Rooms are all laminate or wooden throughout with a few short pile rugs
• Smoke alarm fitted in kitchen , living and upstairs landing and every bedroom
• All light switches are at 1 m
• All bathroom lights are on motion sensors
• There are no lifts/elevators - just stairs to the upper levels
• W/C’s are on the 1st Floor accessed via stairs
• There is no public telephone
Dining Rooms & Lounges
• Pear Tree Cottage has a step down into living room of 16.5cm (ramp available)
• Door widths are 80 cm
• Pear Tree room size is approx. 7.10M*5.8M (Meadow Cottage is 5.8M*6.8M)
• The dining area is open plan with living room. Pear Cottage also has dining table in the kitchen
• Dining Tables seat up to 6 (moveable to anywhere within reason)
• Chairs (moveable) – 6 chairs with padded seats
• There is sufficient space for wheel chairs to manoeuvre throughout the whole lower floor of the cottages but not upstairs
• Flooring is laminate throughout
• Furniture is moveable and all is non feather
• One double sofa and 2 chairs provided with arms
• LCD Freeview/Teletext TV provided with remote control (also available stereo with CD, radio)
Self-Catering Kitchens
• Room size for Pear Tree is 4.3M*5.8M (Meadow 5.8m*3.2M)
• Work top heights 90 cm
• Oven door is drop down, height of lowest shelf 40 cm , can be accessed from the side
• Sink is 90 cm high with cupboards underneath
• Hob is 90 cm high
• Flooring is vinyl
• At least 1 metre free space between all furniture and work tops
• Very well and evenly lit kitchen with multiple spotlights above work surfaces
• Good contrast between floor, cupboards and other surfaces
• Both cottages include a fridge with small freezer compartment
• Both cottages include a Dish Washer
Laundry
• There is a standard size washing machine, which is front loading, provided in the kitchen
Upstairs
• Open wide staircase with non slip strips (100.7 cm wide) from diner/Living area with 2*45 degree turns
• There are handrails on both sides of the stairs
Main Bedroom
• Pear Tree Cottage has a 6 cm step up
• Doors width 77 cm
• Standard Double bed provided
• Bed height 65 cm floor to top of mattress
• Non Feather duvets and pillows provided
• Sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases are cotton
• Largest transfer space available to left or right of bed is 1.1M
• Bed is movable if more space is required to one side
• Largest free space clear of doors and furniture is 3.3M by 1.8M (Pear)
• Meadow Cottage has free space of 1.5M*1.5M

• Free space in bathroom (free of doors and furniture) is 2m sq in both cottages

• Space to right and left of toilet is 1m (in Meadow only 0.5M to the left)
